Centacare Toowoomba is an official welfare agency of the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba covering South West Queensland. The Agency exists as an expression of the social mission of the Bishop of Toowoomba throughout the Diocese.
The work of Centacare Toowoomba is based on the principle of the absolute worth of the individual person and responds to contemporary needs through appropriate institutions and services.
The philosophy underlying the mission of Centacare Toowoomba is to bring a Christian view to bear on individual and social problems. In practice this is seen to be best fulfilled by providing a variety of services within the one agency, to promote family and community well being.
Centacare Toowoomba recognises the intrinsic worth and dignity of each individual and asserts that each person is entitled to adequate opportunity to exercise basic rights and to meet basic needs. The Agency is committed to the family as the most appropriate setting into which to be born, through which to develop, and within which to grow old. The Agency is committed to providing programs and professional services that foster the development of autonomous individuals, couples and families.
