TRAMS BROCHURE

Toowoomba Refugee and Migrant Support Centre (TRAMS) is a voluntary group of people committed to offering friendship and support to refugees and migrants in the Toowoomba area.  We are located in the old St Saviour’s pre-school (behind St Patrick’s Cathedral, cnr James and Neil St).

We offer referrals to relevant government and non-government services (eg. Centrelink, Housing Support, Health, Education, etc).  We also offer free Centre based activities including English Language classes, Homework tutoring, Cooking, Sewing and Computer Classes. The Sudanese Adult Tutorial Program is also based at TRAMS.

In addition, TRAMS acts as a resource and information centre for other community sectors seeking to assist migrants and refugees in the community.

TRAMS is open to all people regardless of race, religion, gender, age or visa class.  We are committed to upholding the dignity of all people and will strive to treat every guest at TRAMS with respect and a willingness to listen and learn.

 Is There a Need?

Imagine having to flee your country and all that is familiar to you.  Imagine landing in a country which is totally different from yours.  You cannot speak the language, you do not understand the customs….

TRAMS can help by linking volunteers with a refugee family in the community for ongoing support with everyday issues.

We need your help in welcoming newly arrived families to Toowoomba.

You can contribute to making Toowoomba a welcoming, diverse and friendly city!

 How can you help?
