Counselling is a confidential relationship between the counsellor and the client - whether an individual, a couple or a family - experiencing problems in their lives. Counselling can help people to resolve issues and to find their own solutions.
Psychologists work with clients to clarify problems, set goals, choose interventions and evaluate progress while developing life skills or competencies to enable people to help themselves. When a family is involved, the process includes the whole family. Young children who may have difficulty with words, often use drawings or other activities to express their feelings and emotions.
