SeasonsTM Loss and Grief Program for Children & Young People

Centacare Toowoomba provides the Seasons loss and grief program for children and young people, who have experienced a significant loss such as family separation, divorce, or death. The program is based on the concept of the seasons of the year – reflecting the process of grief.

The program is delivered with a small group of children/young people, close in age, over a series of sessions. The group provides an opportunity for children and young people to express, explore, acknowledge, normalise, and integrate their grief. The content of the program provides children and young people the opportunity to learn positive skills for living with their loss, and covers such areas as feelings, the child’s story, memories, change, managing the loss, and moving on.
